On digital gardens
A blog is a stream: dated, finished, ordered newest-first. A digital garden is a space: a set of small notes that link to each other and grow over time. The two aren’t rivals. The essays stay polished; the notes stay provisional.
The unit of a garden is the atomic note — one idea, stated plainly, linked to its neighbours. Over time the links matter more than any single note. For the reasoning behind keeping them public and unfinished, see why notes.
